Pirate guns to you head

CNN.com is carrying a story about a trawler that was captured by Somoli pirates. The U.S. Navy was closing in, but when the pirates put their guns to the heads of the South Korean crew, the Navy backed off. The trawler then sailed unmolested into Somoli waters.

So, what you you want if you were a crew member and pirates put guns to your head?

Didn't the US Navy recently sink one of the nice Somali pirate ships? How about someone building a "Q ship", a merchant ship equipped with lots of nice guns that draws the nasty pirates to it then lets them have it both barrels? (The ship would be equipped so that the crew could change its appearence, so after each mission it will draw in another lot of unfortunate brigands.)

Yeah. The Somolis complained that we were firing on the militia ships which were patrolling for pirates. They threatened to hold innocent seamen hostage and execute them if our attacks on their militia ships didn't cease.
