    Point.

When it's the death of a child who has done nothing to warrant such violence I just think that there should be harsher punishments for that. Then again, murder is murder no matter what, it's all just wrong. I don't know and I don't have the answer. It's just wrong.

Well, this reminds me of an incident that happened over a decade ago. An American family was touring southern Italy. Some bandits attempted to stop their car and rob them, but the family drove on. The badits fired on the car, striking their seven year old son in the head. The boy was pronounced dead on arival at the local hospital, but the boy's family in their generosity donated his organs. The story made big press in Italy since at the time since organ donation was rather rare in Italy at the time. The police found the gun that killed the child, and matched the bullet to the gun. They traced the gun back to the owner who as it happened had a history of armed highway robbery, and yet.............and yet were unable to get a conviction in court. The owner explained that he had lost the gun but had not reported it to the police. His family, some of whom also had criminal historys, backed up his claim. Perhaps an Italian court will be more willing to meet out justice over the murder of a native Italian child.

Put them in General Pop. when they get to prison. Natural events will take care of them.

I am European and I agree with death penalty.Because I think the death of the next victim is much worse than the death of the criminal. And I actualy know some of the people are against, claim humanist or religious reasons, but take profit(legal profit)of the crimes. And some of them make the laws.
          Best regards,

Noone is saying that scum like this should ever be released.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Normally I'm against the death penalty, but to take the life of an innocent child who has done nothing to warrant it.....well, ok then you tell me what kind of punishment you think is appropriate for this lovely little crime.

I don't think anyone ever warrants the crime of murder. Are you suggesting that some people warrant murder more than others, or that a crime against an "innocent" child is worse than the same crime against an equally innocent man or women? That's outrageous and contemptable.

When convicted, those responsible should be put in prison for the rest of their lives where they will be unable to ever harm society again. Anything less would be unjust, and anything more would be simply the blood lust of knuckle-draggers.

The current prision system, which is pretty much the same in most countries, is far from good as well, IMHO.

Inmates should be put to work, no matter for what, and be expected to work enough to justify their upkeep...

                  Death penalty

Remember the purpose of a penal system is to reform, not to avenge. I know emotions speak loudly in cases like this, and it is truly sickening, but the right thing has to be done. In this case it would be life imprisonment...where life means life...

...well they should be detained until they are reformed. If there is a shadow of a doubt over their safety in society as a whole, they should not be released...this would probably apply to paedophiles, where an action as extreme as castration may be required to assure their safety and ability to live a productive life...
