i can tell you as a gambling addict who has since quit that giving people an out for the mistake of gambling is bad.
the first time i ****ed up i lost only 300 dollars i didnt have. I asked my parents and they helped me pay it off. The next time I lost 3000 dollars and I knew i couldnt ask them again. It was only the second time, i lost 900 dollars, that I decided gambling just doesnt work if youre no good at hold em. and im not. thats why i lost 4.2k total (was taken down to 1800 after talk with bank).
secondly never expect a gambling addict to pay back debts. I havent. And I wont. netteller, party poker, NCO financial will all have to go to court to get it out of me first. and the sad thing is its all divided among those collecters pretty evenly. so at 600 dollars a piece in debt, are they gonna collect? sure my credit is screwed up but im rebuilding that pretty easily.
and really the only way hes gonna stop is if he has to bite the bullet and let his credit go to hell or whatever."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

Well, against all your advice, I decided to say yes.
I will have 2 cars under my name, A honda Accord V6 2001 and a 2001 Civic fully paid. Interest rate will be of 15%. I hope all you guys are wrong. I dont really trust him, but I trust her girlfriend ( the owner of the Civic ). If all goes well the loan will be paid in 3.5 years if he pays weekly. I'm pretty sure he will though,n losing her girlfriends car is not in his advantage, I know how much he cares about her...We are supposed to write a contract tonight.

Spec, the only bigger fool than a bad gambler is a someone who bankrolls a bad gambler.
keep us updated on this too. ill be checking each month for the next 3.5 years. if he doesnt pay ill buy the debt off of you and start collecting.
and getting his girlfriend involved with paying off the debt. they arent married, but maybe you should push them towards this."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

Spec.
You are lending somebody you don't trust, because the car that is pawned belongs to somebody you DO trust?
Buddy, you are going to have to take the car of your friend from her at some point, because the guy is going to forfeit his obligations..."post reported"Winston, on the barricades for freedom of speech

/me chucklesI came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I feel good about this, and I usally have good intuition.

I think you would do all parties involved a favor if you would untangle the knot and realize you are making a deal with the gambler, and not the third party (your friend)."post reported"Winston, on the barricades for freedom of speech

Oh I know I am. But she controls him. She really does,
And worse case scenario, I end up with a nice Accord 2001 V6. And I already have 40 checks made out to me. All I have to do is to go pay the car and the guy myself and be sure there is no other lean on the car.

"I have a friend, who I just learned has gambling debts. He's not a good friend, but I know him rather well.
Now he owes 7700$ in gambling debts. He didn't ask me for help, her friend, which is a really good friend of mine asked me for him."
Who is the "her" here?

Spec speaks French, and in French the possessive adjective accords with the noun it modifies.
So in French, the female friend of a male would be "sa amie", i.e. "her friend". In English the possessive adjective accords with the possessor, so one would write "his friend"12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET
