One would think that this could be applied to any belief subgroup...

Somewhat, but many times its easier to recognize the quieter members of other belief subgroups, allowing your perception of the group to be shaped by not just the most vocal and crazy members of the subgroup. It's hard to recognize your nice, average atheist as they don't have any religious symbols, customs or holidays to tip you off.

Cuba has one of the lowest rates of atheism? But I've been told repeatedly that atheism = communism

Atheists identified as America’s most distrusted minority, according to new U of M study
Worse than Congress ? No way!

I'd like to see a study correlating criminal behaviour with religious belief...
Or better yet, identifying the % of atheists among the criminal population

I'm agnostic and I distrust atheists, mainly because I associate them with dip****s like Michael Newdow.
Why do conservatives hate American heroes?

Where were these 2,000 households? Bumblefuq, Kansas?

So an agnostic is having a problem with Newdow's effort of removing the term "under god" from the US Pledge of Allegiance?

The pledge of alliegence sounded better in its original, Godless version. The revised 1954 version sound wrong.

I'm basically an athiest, and I don't care about having under god in the Pledge. It's meaningless to me, and it's harmless. Michael Newdow is an attention whore douche bag who makes all athiests look bad.

Actually, I really wouldn't want my kid to do that.

I actually prefer atheits to muslims and protestants.

Most people dont have a problem with atheists, if the atheists are just people who dont give a sheit for religion, only militant atheists annoy people.

I had a communist maths teacher when I was a kid, she would ask me, do you believe in god? why?
Anyway, the ***** lost her right hand, and had to learn to write agains with her left hand, take that atheist!
