Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Drop the definition "politician". There's no such thing as a politician, as they are supposed to be WORKING FOR US.
Let's start calling them subordinates
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
Direct democracy works well enough on a city level

(the Democrat lost by just 50 votes though there was a question about electronic voting machines being hacked and not counting votes correctly).
HAHAHAHA, they are probobly losing elections because they refuse to get off their dead horses no matter how unsuccessful they prove, like that tired old line above.
It seems to me the best way to combat corruprion is to make officials work to keep their jobs, which requires an opposition party with good ideas, or at least better, and fewer assclowns. This of course is not the case anywhere in this country.

Yeah, the Democrats are ****ing the plan up royally right now. They're supposed to be moving back to the center so we all have a viable opposition party to replace the corrupt Republicans with (who are well past their eight years), but instead they're moving farther and farther to the left, making them unelectable. Where's Slick Willy when you need him?

Somebody has to do it. Right now having the Democrats in their current form be your opposition is like playing against Civ AI. Predictable, uninspired, repetative, and contiuoulsy marching themselves in stacks o death over cliffs.
No fun at all.

Actually if you decrease the size of the nation dramatically, I think the risk for corruption and the damage that it can cause lowers significantly.
Then why is it that various Latin American banana republics have such a problem with corruption?

I'm not seeing a tired old line at least when it comes to the last few local elections which have been literally decided by a few tens of votes and the supposedly efficent and reproducable electronic voting machines had variations in recount which the manufacturer said was impossible. I'm not sure why it occured but why would a machine which supposedly counts every vote perfectly come up with different tallies between one count and the recount?
Isn't that a germaine question when the election has been decided by a few tens of votes? Shouldn't people complain about things like that and demand they get fixed?

Going farther left economically isn't what is hurting them (dispite what the DLC morons say), it's refusing to compromise on social issues in red states. The Democrats would be winning overwhelingly if it wasn't for "Family Values" politics.
The American populace leans farther right on economic issues than they do on social ones. I think you'll find a far larger percentage of the population supports (or at least claims to support) small government and free trade than supports banning abortion and mixing religion and education (prayer in schools, intelligent design).

I think you're underestimating the potential of economic nationalism, especially if one party started campaigning on job creation and rebuilding the industrial base. The party would certainly win votes in the rust belt and among the lower service class.

Are you crazy? People love big government. Handouts, pork projects, public services, it all benefits everyone someway or another.
If as many people really liked this "small government" idea as is often claimed, then I think we'd be electing Presidents like David Floyd and Lawrence of Arabia.

Oerdin's problem isn't nationwide. He's bothered by corruption in his city.
