I watched the first 2 episodes. The show is OK, but it's definitely not Battlestar Galactica. It will take me a while to get used to the heavy English accents also. I wish I could get captions.

Do they have hell in India? I thought that you folks got punished by being reincarnated in a retrograde direction?

Forget the theology of it for now - please just tell me where I can get the show .

But yes , the fruits of bad actions in one life is manifest in the next ( either by being reincarnated as something lower on the scale , or by suffering in the next life ) .

After a brief survey of Dr Who sites the best I information I can offer you is that Amazon.com offers a DVD set of the complete first season.

Something simmilar to bluescreen effect (filming actors in front of a green screen and superimposing the video of the actors into another filmed sequence. ) It doesn't look great in general, and it looks really bad when done on the cheap.

I found both episodes strangely entertaining. Dr Who is a very intriguing character. I really enjoyed the scenes towards the end where Dr Who points out the people walking around oblivious and talks about we think people and stuff will be around forever. Seeing Earth blow up in 5 billion years definitely gives you a different perspective onlife.

And now for the bad: The living plastic mannequins were so lame and cheesy. When the mannequins come alive and start attacking people in the mall, I cringed, I thought I was watching a B horror movie from the 50's.
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

Oh. I thought you were thinking SciFi is showing the second season, which is yet to be released anywhere. Uh, but what was the point of the question then?

But this is a cheesy show from the fifties. Err, sixties. Can't escape your roots, man.

I haven´t seen much Dr Who. But Tom Baker was in all the episodes and a lot of really cheesy 70´s special effects. And a spectacular musical theme, very Tangerine Dreamish.

I'm afraid the Autons are a "classic" foe, as are the Daleks, whom you Yan... I mean, Americans, will be aquainted with soon enough.

The Autons are rather lame, admittedly, but the Daleks really are "classic". I urger you to NOT turn off your TV set when you first meet them, they are great baddies!

In any case, I doubt the Autons will be re-appearing much, they were rare in the original too.

I think that the new Doctor will be pretty good anyway.

And RE; The decision to kil lthe Timelords being lame, it becomes clear why they are dead, and is a central part of what makes the Doctor, and the Daleks.

It really is a key aspect of Doctor who, but if you are desperate or some dealings with other Timelords, I'm sure the only other remaining Timelord, the Master, will be back at some point. or you could watch the classic series, as the Timelords are involved with the 3rd or 4th octor, I forget.

The point is that in the US we're just beginning to see season 1 on the Sci-Fi channel, but season 1 ran in the UK last year and is available on DVD. Therefore you can already buy the episodes we're talking about.
Do you get BBC television in India?
