We would have a problem. Current law said they can only be 435 Rep. no more. So some states would loose one or two Rep. Also they would have to change the Sen. law so they could have 102 Senators.

      We would have a problem.

Why a problem, just redo the percentages of state representatives per the entire body for the next census.

Whoops, not right. Every State is entitled to two Senators. There is maximum limit on the number.

Puerto Rico is pretty, but I would never live there.

Supermarket shopping in San Juan is more expensive than NYC, and this is from experience. I have paid less for a mango in NYC than San Juan...it absurd

I had the same problem in Hawaii...because most stuff had to be shipped in. But pineapples were cheap. Expensive Puerto Rican mangos? Seems silly.

                    Thanks.

You could merge other states into one the moment before adding a new one.

Here's a hypothetical - if the US needed to reinstate a draft for whatever reason, how would that effect Puerto Ricans (or people from Guam (Guamanians? Guamites?), etc.)? Would they be subject to it under the current structure?
