Which is why conservatives still spend so much time railing about unwed mothers and the role of fathers?
It's an emotionally charged issue, that's why its talked about.

Which is why walk-away fathers aren't that big of a problem among the poor . . . oh wait!

The real question is, why do conservatives love fetuses more than real babies?
While there are many walkaway fathers, there would be more. Also, the women don't always plan that the father will run,

If you committ a crime, you're forced into involuntary servitiude. If you damage someones proerpty, you're forced into involuntary servitude. If you create another human being, you are obligated to care for it in our society.

      • Ok let me see if i can put this another way!! Say a man sees a nice car. He goes in and wants a test drive with no insurance, should he be absolved of the payment for what he has done after the crash ?
When you find yourself arguing with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is.

You take my laughter at your ridiculous comment as failure to disagree? Trust me, we aren't very much more litigous today than we were thirty or twenty years ago.

Exactly. Glad to see we're getting through.

If adoption is on the mind of mom, she most likely isn't going to give the right father's name on the birth cert.

Again, so what? You are arguing for men who don;t want the child.

And look who is talking about assumptions anyways.
I'm arguing that men should have choices after 'the mistake'.

That doesn't preclude other arguments over other issues of reproductive rights for men.

Well, again, next time he should be more choosy with his sperm. He had his choice. Now he has his responsibility.
            Yes. The default GePap response.

One would imagine you being in favour of lawsuits over paternity involving donated sperm.

You seem to place such a high value on the little buggers.

If the crash happened because of a problem with the car itself, then yes he should be absolved.

That maybe could be fixed somewhat with this.

I would bring up statistics, but at the moment when I try to search for any trial related topic I just get articles about more RIAA lawsuits.

Legitimate ones though. And eventually it might cause the trend to turn around.

And if you signed a contract beforehand that said if you crash the car even if it is the fault of a mechanical problem then you are responsible, should you be held responsible?

                          Men have reproductive choices:

                          Abstention from sex
                          Birth control methods for men
                          Surgery

If a man failed to use any of these, he failed to excercise his reproductive choices, and he is responsible for his actions.

He gets no further choices, because he does not get pregnant, and thus has no further place were his choice can be excercised.

As Che said, men ALREADY have rights regarding adoptions if they want their child.

Clinic defenders won't do anything. They're trained not to even brush against you, since pro-lifers will fall down and claim assault. So I'd be quite safe.

I'm not debating that. I've been on a more moderate position this entire thread, that there just needs to be a way out if the guy didn't think the woman could get pregnant. Thus it is the car's fault, not the driver's.

                                Why?

Most western societies give women the choice.
