I suppose I could tell my roommate (I live in his house) that I want everything that goes with the convenience of living with him without any expectations from him to contribute towards household chores, helping with utility/living expenses, and so forth.
Following your logic, you think the universities that receive aid from the government should be able to get a free ride without obligations -- I could apply that fallacious logic with my living situation.
That's never what I said. It's obvious to anyone with the least sense that the federal program isn't called 'Army advertisement program'. They're granting academic money on the basis of academic criteria. Allowing the military to advertise on campus is not such a criterion.
Boris...you realize that some people actually graduate that way. Quite a bit of money from the military goes into many schools just through ROTC and GI Bills.

It helps people graduate! That's what I've been saying.

Apparently it is. Hence the ruling.

Sure it helps people, but who is that connected to the argument?
People depend on it for their academics.

Except for that last phrase, why are some portions of that clause powers and others merely scribbling?
Because the author made a distinction between the general terms used to describe goals and the actual powers granted to achieve them. Read Federalist 43 if you want Madison's take on what he meant.
Since Section 8 only specifically mentions the army and navy, does this mean the Air Force and the Coast Guard are unconstitutional?
These are mere names of specialised forces developed by the army and navy, why would they be unconstitutional?

Politicians do it because it wins votes but the bottom line is they can attach any requirements they want.
Don't forget it's also good for the country as a whole to have a lot more people be able to afford college. Course, by moving it away from grants to loans, they are taking away a lot of that advanatge.

Actually, it doesn't really do that very well. I wish I could remember where I got the info, but a very paltry number of people are actually able to use the GI Bill effectively anymore. There are a number of restrictions that knock out a lot of people, the money isn't anywhere near enough to cover the cost of college, and college credits you earn in the military really aren't transferable to any real university.
The military is for suckers, poor people, and jingoists.

What does that have to do with what I'm saying? Are you saying that everyone can afford it because there are people who do it for non-profit?
What?
I'm referring to this part:
Pretty much all you can get from law schools are people who can go into JAG or finance, so its not like they are really going to ever be in danger.
I may be misunderstanding what you're talking about, but I interpreted it to mean that most people who come out of law school go into JAG or finance? What did you mean?
