  • How big is your uni?

Read an article about Harvard that described the uni, with its 20,000 students, as "huge". My uni however, has about 30,000 students and it never occured to me that it was a particularly large uni (from global POV). So I'm wondering how large everybody's uni's are.

    Shoot.

Mine is about 24k students. It's one of the bigger in Sweden, but I would never have guessed that Harvard is smaller.

My college was about 8k undergrads and 3k postgrads. The 'University of London' as a whole has over 100,000. The individual colleges are pretty much completely independent entities though.

I'm actually surprised Harvard is that large. My undergrad uni currently has about 43,000 students (was probably a little smaller when I was there, though not much) and my grad school uni currently has about 63,000 students (again, maybe slightly smaller when I attended).

                2.5k undergrad / 2.5k grad. Private.

20k is huge for a private college.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Wait, Harvard as 20k total? Really? Last I checked I thought they had 6k undergrads... that would mean 14k graduate students? wow...

Well, they have masters and doctorate programs...as well as many just taking a semester or so there on study abroad programs or specific research. It would make sense to be mroe top heavy.

The University has approximately 18 000 students, of which 5000 are Ph.D. students.

When I was at UCLA, there were about 30,000 students. However, I've heard that since I left, it's become much more popular

15 000 students. The facilities are spread throughout the city so it doesn't feel that large to me, though.
