In all seriousness, even though that law is despicable, I can't really give a
to a Church that disobeys secualr laws. To me, the separation of Church and State means that the Churches can worship however they want, within the secular legal framework.

That is church subserviant to state in whatever way state wishes.
I mean according to your post, China's actions are entirely reasonable and within the bounds of proper church and state interaction.

Church is bound by law; like any other group or citizen. If you have fascistic laws, you ought to change the laws. But not to believe that churches have a special right not to obey the law because they're churches.Originally posted by Jon Miller

What exactly is this law? Does it apply only to churches, or to any charitable organization? Does it apply only to churches or organizations receiving federal grants?
