In all seriousness, even though that law is despicable, I can't really give ato a Church that disobeys secualr laws. To me, the separation of Church and State means that the Churches can worship however they want, within the secular legal framework.
The lawmakers might take religious sensitivities when creating new laws, but there is definitely something wrong when one thinks that he is above secular law because of what his pirituality dictates."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

Was the second "er" that you tacked onto "diversion" really necessary? Or are you just "retardeded"?We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution. - Abraham Lincoln

That is church subserviant to state in whatever way state wishes.
I mean according to your post, China's actions are entirely reasonable and within the bounds of proper church and state interaction.

I approve of any group that disobeys fascistic laws (civil disobediance), but such groups have to face the judicial consequences of their actions. Churches are no different, they have to follow the law or face the consequences."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

Church is bound by law; like any other group or citizen. If you have fascistic laws, you ought to change the laws. But not to believe that churches have a special right not to obey the law because they're churches.

Sorry, there is some room for a choice there (about what is facist).

What exactly is this law? Does it apply only to churches, or to any charitable organization? Does it apply only to churches or organizations receiving federal grants?
Maybe we should know the particulars of what we're discussing? Don't you think?............................................ ............ Oh, OK. I'll shut up."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!
