Wizards First Rule states that all people are stupid. They will believe anything, either because they want it to be true or they are afraid that it might be true.
Goodkind. Crappy fantasy writer. Ex-CIA guy, IIRC.

The rule isn't that bad, but it's so broad as to be rather meaningless.

    -Arrian

p.s. You realize that, to zealot Republicans, the ACLU is an evil, anti-American organization. Anything the ACLU says or does is bad in their view.

p.p.s. For anyone who doesn't know anything about Terry Goodkind: "Terry Goodkind has been largely influenced by the books of Ayn Rand and is a strong supporter of her works and of the Objectivist Movement." (from Wikipedia)

Wizard's First Rule was a damn good fantasy book!

Stone of Tears was decent... I stopped reading with Blood of the Fold. It seemed like he was starting to copy Robert Jordan.

        "Karls world" rocks

If I was her I'd find disturbing that major news organizations are skipping this news

anyhow, not all is lost so here is something for her, and there are others reporting

Socrates: "Good is That at which all things aim, If one knows what the good is, one will always do what is good." Brian: "Romanes eunt domus"
GW 2013: "and juistin bieber is gay with me and we have 10 kids we live in u.s.a in the white house with obama"

The first two or three books were ok. Then the gloves came off. The ideology came right out into the open, and destroyed any hope of suspending disbelief. Basically, suddenly you're reading Rand.

The amusing part of the "major news networks aren't show this so it isn't true" is that during the whole Lewinsky thing, the National Enquirer broke the story and the national news media ignored it. Conservatives were in a tizzy, talking about how the news media is ignoring stories which would bring down their guys and stuff .

I didn't read far enough into the series to get to the overly ideological stuff, then. I read the first two, but stopped after reading the first few chapters of book three.

Clinton was quite popular in south america.

The Lewinsky incident made him even more popular.

I'd like to show pressure to anyone who claims known torture techniques aren't really torture. You are taking the best case scenario. I would love to show you the worst case scenario of it all. Let's see how much you'll be crying then .

The measures allowed are enough, there's no reason to bend any of it.

I've been in MP training, I wasn't MP but I was the target, of that. You have no clue what it is, until you've been there. I wasn't beaten, though I did recieve some riflebutts to my back while being on my knees for an eternity. I've said it time and again, that stress positions are torture. It's one of the most common torturing things. Some of you clowns say it's not. You're nothing short of an idiot and ******* to say that. Try being on your knees from 3 to 4 hours, hands on your back, waiting your own turn. Knowing that nothing will happen because the ones doing it are your peers and it's all beign controlled well and you're friendly. My guy got a table thrown at him, his hands on his back, and thrown to the wall and being threatened and shouted at by some Ltn. No biggie, but it was definitely scary, and you started missing your mom. The ones who laugh at it are nothing but bunch of internet warriors and pussies.

If that was real, and that stuff was still definitely legal, and we add the things that have been proven as used techniques, definitely no friendly environment, it's not legal, period. I mean in some weird military reality it might be legal if you're in some rogue African nation or something.

You add playing with poo, enforced masturbation, all those things in one, sadistic guards, beating.. then add that it has last for couple of years now or more, and there's no even a chance for you being charged for something? That's torture. The ones who keep living in denial about what is humane treatment will burn in hell for it. you're not real christians or real human beings but stains of what ever it is that you represent. And if there is karma, the circle will be closed at some day and the individuals that keep talking **** will get it. And when that day comes, no one will be there to defend you or help you, because you don't deserve the support.

                  I have spoken.
                  In da butt.
