Not that it matters, but Crosby played RW pretty well for Pittsburgh for a while.

I don't care about the other teams. The simple fact is Gretzky dropped the ball with team selection, he picked a coach the guys wouldn't play for and a bunch of guys that can't play with eachother and are too old or injured to keep up.

Funny how the players in 2002 were happy to play for Quinn and Hitchcock. So why were they not willing to play for them this time, eh.

You say the guys were too old, and yet the old, slow guys on other teams are scoring so obviously age is not a factor.

The other teams have had injury problems (look at the Czechs).

Your guess is as good as mine. Something tells me it's because they were overconfident from last time's gold, and because Quinn himself has been coaching a terrible team consistently since then. Why should they listen to a guy who can't be successful with the biggest hockey franchise in Canada?

Because they play well in that game. If you had a Sutter style of game with the slow players, it would work too.

Quinn tried to play a run-and-gun style of game with old, slow players and we got shut out repeatedly. The proof is in the pudding, which is shoved so far up your ass that you can taste it.

Run and gun? Which games did you watch. Instead of letting guys take the puck from end to end, they were doing long passes and when that didn't work they switched to short passes up the ice. Then they were cycling the puck rather than shooting.

Okay, true enough. It was more of a complete lack of consistent approach.
