  • What do you think about San Francisco?

I've always heard lots of things in the local press about how the press elsewhere thinks San Francisco and Berkeley are filled with lefty wackos.

Wonder how reflective this is of wider opinion... So, whether or not you've ever been to the Bay Area, let's hear what you think...

I love the city, grew up there for about 8 years thru HS except for a year in Maryland. We lived close to the big concrete cross in the middle of the city. Too bad they dont want the Iowa, I could look out my window back then and see carriers parked at Hunter's Point.

Love it. It's got everything you could want from a city, especially great great great food, and is built to a human scale (more like a European city than an American one in that respect). Never lived there, doubt I'll ever be able to afford to, but I love to visit.

No. Las Vegas is fun, but as you know, realistic city out of glitter and plastic, it's SF. Plus LV after the strip is like Mogadishu.

I guess I live in Mogadishu. I never even go on the strip. Unless I'm showing it off to visitors from out of town.

But don't forget about downtown. Where else can you gamble, go right outside and find a crack whore. Sure you can find whores on the strip, but they can't compare to crack whores.
