    You are so sure?

You remove a non-religious regime that opresses the people, and replace it with what? Something else that popresses the people that is not so friendly to the west.

We could end up with 10 Irans. The middle east is not anything like the west. The freedoms we take for granted were earnt with the deaths of millions over hundreds of years. We evolved naturally to the positions we are in now. You couldnt get a time machine, go back in time to the dark ages and just introduce democracy to Europe and expect it to work.

I say leave them to it and let their society evolve naturally. A monarchy if far more desireable for everyone than a theocracy.

The protestors are mostly just being aggitated by Islamists who want to create an Islamic revolution or by dictatorships who are attempting to avoid being overthown by showing the people "the real enemy" so they want notice how repressive and screwed up the ruling elites at home are.

Denmark has closed its embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The Pakistani ambassador to Denmark has been recalled for "consultations".

Danish troops will stay on in Iraq after the Iraqi government has requested so in writing, at the request of the Danish government.

According to the Sky Italia TV Network, 9 people were killed and 55 injured on Friday in the city of Benghazi, Libya, during protests against the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammed.
