Well, color me surprised. I didn't measure, but eyeballing it I'd say we got about a foot, maybe a foot & a half. Tough to tell since there was so much wind blowing it around.

      Snow!

Paying someone to plow for us

Toby (our labrador retriever) was quite pleased with things. I took him over to a friend's house for play time. He ran around like a maniac for an hour and a half, with his two girlfriends chasing after him. Good times. And then, he slept.

It snowed really hard, but only about 6" or 7" stuck.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Can you send some of that winter our way? We've had a dreadful winter over here, full of gloom and murk and not a bit of snow. Now all we have is the pre-Spring rains.

I was out walking around in the snowstorm about 1 or 2 am Sunday when it started thundering and lightning. The heavy snow substantially muffled the sound of the thunder, but I suppose reflected the lightning, so that about a quarter of the sky would suddenly light up completely white all the way down to the ground. Pretty cool. We ultimately got about a foot, and the kids spent all day Sunday sledding.

(I think this would be a really bad time to mention how great the weather has been in California, so I won't. Shhhhh.)
