That's a strange twist of events, too, since the cross originally symbolised death.

Er, I was under the impression that it was modelled after the red crosses used by hospitals on ambulances, not the RC organization itself. Certainly not after anything Canadian. Nobody pays attention to Canada, for crying out loud.
Hmm. Doesn't the Red Cross have more urgent matters to focus on?
Besides, doesn't this fall under some sort of copyright rule where, if you don't defend it, you lose it? That's why so many companies send cease-and-desist letters out to various entities they think are violating their copyrights. Does the Red Cross do this as well?
