You judge a thread's topworthiness on its importance, not whether or not other, slightly similar, threads are likely to occur.

Otherwise, we should have a topped birthday thread, a topped football thread, a topped Suomithread, a topped thread for me to b*tch about topped threads. The whole goddamn forum would get topped!

Now acknowledge the error of your ways and untop this moronic thread. Put a line in your location field advising people to PM you if they want a gmail invite. Or buy some space on a huge billboard on the edge of town. Do whatever you want, but untop this stupid thread!

I don't know about you, but to me, this thread is about community service. You know, helping out each other? Maybe this is not important to you, but it is important to me.

Other than being a gaming site, Poly has developed into an online community. Esp. here in Off Topic. People come here to seek all kinds of help and ohers provide them. This thread is not an exception.

The only difference is the requests here are simple and identical. Somebody comes here and post an e-mail account. Somebody else send him or her a Gmail invite. There's no need to specify the problem, background information, etc.

I don't know what you do in your spare time, but I am a volunteer for the local Oxfam and an environmental group. So perhaps my work in real life leaks online as well.

How about addressing the point I made about threads deserving topped status on the merits of their importance? Just how many requests have been made in this thread since you topped it, hm? Do you feel more, less or equally popular after this latest abuse of your mod powers?

Depends on how irritating topped threads are to you. Especially ones as ludicrous as this. Couple it with a lingering suspicion of corruption being the driving force in one moderator's actions on this board, and you should start to get a picture of why I'm unable to shut up about this..
