Many Jews own little of importance (yours truely included) many of those who do, are not particularly involved with Jewish communal affairs. The money that IS available for Jewish communal affairs is overstretched by competing needs.

Ive sat on the boards of a Jewish social service agency, a Jewish day school, and of a synagogue. This notion of limitless Jewish wealth is very nice, but it didnt help us any. And of course a tremendous amount of Jewish philanthropy goes to general causes, not to the Jewish community.

Im reminded of a joke.

Its 1935. A jewish man is riding the subway. Hes reading henry fords notoriously antisemitic Dearborn Independent. His friend sees him and goes up to him, shocked, and asks him why he reads such filth.

Well, I am ignorant of Jews' situation in Europe, but they appear to be plenty strong in America as an advocacy group. Which is not to say you're all rich either. But there are extremely prominent Jews. Henry freaking Kissinger, for example. You have real representatives among the high and mighty in the USA. There aren't all that many Arabs in prominence. I can't think of even one.

Jews have no power in Saudi Arabia, but nobody from the West has real power in or over Saudi Arabia. Nor do I see much reason to care about it unless you happen to be a Jew living in SA. Not only do they hate most of us anyway regardless of ethnicity, it's Saudi Arabia; if it weren't for oil, they'd just be another backwards disgrace like Myanmar...or any of the pitiful hovel-clusters in the Asian steppes that don't have enough oil wealth to counterbalance their massive ignorance and xenophobia. Indonesia is little better. The fact that these countries are entirely controlled by (a certain sect of) Muslims, for (a certain sect of) Muslims, is the only thing they have to pride themselves on.

Israel, by comparison...actually, no, I think I'll just withdraw my comments about Israel altogether, because that whole conflict makes my head hurt. The situation there appears to be some sort of microcosm of the mess now facing the world in general (in the sense that it involves militant Islam, thinking about it makes me want to drink, and there's no apparent solution). It's probably worth studying for insights into the conflict we now face, but since the main insight to be gained appears to be "the damned fight just never ends no matter how you try," well, I'd rather be ignorant of it.

I'm going to say it right now. This probably isn't politically correct, and will get me banned. But I don't care anymore.

I hate the muslim religion, and think it's the absolute worst religion ever. And don't give me crap about how many people killed in the name of christianity. What happened hundreds of years ago doesn't concern me. What concerns me is how people of these bull**** religions act today. And I don't want to hear crap about moderate muslims either. They need to get wise to what the religion is teaching. Actually all religion followers need to do this, but especially muslims.

I refuse to accept cultural differences. Their culture is ****ed up. There, I said it.

when have I ever liked the muslim religion? Yeah it's kind of cool the middle east (though this isn't necessarily a muslim issue, but a regional issue) stands up to the U.S., but such strict religious code always seemed silly.

If they are so strict, then why could I buy alcohol in Bahrain? You know most of them break most of the rules. So why get so upset over this one?

Let try not to be taking part of this hysteria. But we need to keep our eyes very open on the issue.

For me; Islam is mainly a political movement, that look very like Nazism and communism.
I do think If it was a religion, people will no care over us at all, i have too much respect for some arabs/muslim poets, thinker. Religion + Politics = **** happen.
