You don't watch the same news I do. While Matthews is a moderate Democrat (yes, he worked for Carter.. it may be a shock for you), he is no Bush sycophant. And I've seen Scarbourough has critized Bush on NUMEROUS occasions, even with his Republican credentials. You ever see Scarbourough on Bill Maher's show? He is the 'conservative', but he's usually not very flattering to Bush.

As for Blitzer. He was sycophant to Clinton when he was in office, that's what he does.

If I remember correctly didn't Matthews vote for Bush, and said anybody that didn't like bush was a whack job.

I dunno on the second (he voted for Bush in 2000 though)... but Matthews is, I guess, in the MtG position () of being on the Democrat side, but fairly conservative (so maybe a Conservative Dem than a Moderate Dem). I wouldn't call him a Zell Miller though.

For example from a Conservative site:

President Bush didn’t play for with Democrats in 2002, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews complained to Senator John McCain just before 11pm EST Tuesday night. Raising how in his State of the Union address Bush had made an “appeal for comity, for civility,” Matthews charged when Bush wanted authorization for military action against Iraq, “he jammed that vote right up against the election of 2002. That wasn't a very civil thing to do, to force the Democrats to vote right before an election to give him basically full authorization to do what he wanted to do, but wouldn't say what it was. Was that a civil move?" McCain rejected Matthews’ premise and reminded Matthews of how “we had taken a vote during the Clinton administration that had called for the overthrow of Saddam Hussein.” Matthews countered: "But that was by democratic means, not by war."

And here he is mocked on ExposetheLeft:

I'd think they'd embrace him like Hannity if he was a Bush sycophant.

Yeah, I realize that as well. I guess its hard to characterize Chris Matthews.

Matthews rips the Bushies and Repubs night after night. I believe he was an aide to Tip O'Neill, hardly conservative credentials.

7 central is coveted at MSNBC? Hehe, thats O'Reilly's spot and he kicks MSNBC butt. He's always pointing out how no one watches MSNBC (a slam at Olberman), which of course means porn is more valuable than O'Reilly.

I now watch Olberman at 7 if I'm not watching a repeat of the Daily Show, O'Reilly's BS wears thin after a while even for political enthusiasts. The hypocrisy of a moral crusader brown-nosing the GOP while attacking their victims is too much even for political enthusiasts.

Oops, should have said 8, since I'm on EST. But yeah, even though its against O'Reilly, it's a big time spot.

I've heard Bush described as a monkey, but never a groundhog. Though, I guess I could see it. He does have beady little rodent-eyes when the light catches him the right way.

He just isn't Asian enough to have those buckteeth, though.
