Fundies protesting Cartoons

UYhhhh, and how is this fundie action? They got insensitive about that cartoon and complained about it. Happens every day here in West.

They didn't take up EU offices with AKs, they didn't start nation wide flag burning campagns, boycotts affecting the jobs of thousands possibly, they didn't threat to kill people, they didn't pressure the gorvernment to shut the magazine down etc etc.. shoud I go on? Or is this enough to point out your failure in this thread

I think that cartoon is funny. Sure, it's insensitive too, because the amputee patient, well that's just not funny in itself, because that really happens in there and that's terrible. But it's funny first, insensitive second (in MY mind), thus it passes my funny bone test as being OK comedy.

It's a good cartoon because it shows how easy it is for politicians to speak words like that and how the true cost is borne by the poor soldiers.

Interesting how all of a sudden a civilian political cartoonist is somehow considered an end all authority on military hardship.

Obviously the JCS, all of whom have personally seen combat, have absolutely no perspective for critisism.

It's a neat parallel because whereas pertty much everyone has given a big thumbs down to those wacky Muslim types protesting about one of their holy figures being mocked, the right-wingers won't let one of their holy figures (Rumsfeld) be subject to ridicule. They're even willing to pretend the object of the cartoon's ridicule is the soldier in this case, but using the rank and file as fodder comes second nature to such people.

What you wrote implies that it's purely the title that makes the parallel - to draw people to the thread, as opposed to stating your real opinion.

However it seems that you seem to make the parallel as well - and now, when you confirmed it, I would love to ask - wtf?
