You're a racist lunatic. Why should anyone listen to anything you say?
If you had your way I'd probably be incarcerated in a mental institution for my incorrect thoughts. Anyone who values freedom should ignore anything you say.

If you feel the need to discuss your personal life (whether someone is gay or hetero) then do it outside the game.
I find it really annoying when people cannot distinguish the difference between affirming your sexual orientation identity, and disclosing details of your prviate sex life.
Straight people make it other people's business all the time, what their sexual orientation is without disclosing lurid details of their sex life. Same goes with us (gays).
My sex life is no one's business -- but there's nothing wrong with affirming my sexual orientation identity.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
What's "affirming" one's sexual orientation, anyway? Stop complaining and start a hunk thread, you bozo!
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Agathon and others... enough with the personal crap... discuss the topic... not the posters.
OK. I'll drop the lunatic comment, but are you seriously going to deny that he's a racist given the threads he has posted on how black people are natural criminals and suchlike? IIRC he's even revelled in the title on occasions.
It's like me complaining that folks call me a communist or Kenobi complaining about being called a Catholic or Fun complaining about being called gay...

Back On T.
No one is talking about advertising your sexuality in game. What was punished in this particular case was someone advertising that their guild was "gay friendly" -- that doesn't mean that they are themselves gay, just that they won't tolerate anti-gay behaviour in their guild.
It's pretty offensive that gay people can be sanctioned for merely revealing that they are gay, when straights are not. It's even more offensive that anyone can be sanctioned for announcing that they have a policy of not wanting to group with players who engage in gay bashing.
How is that any different from say, a guild advertising that it won't tolerate anti-semitic remarks? That goes on a lot in WoW. Should anyone who doesn't like it be censored by Blizzard for advertising that such behaviour is not tolerated in his guild?

I certainly agree MrFun, and I am glad that you understand this distinction. I would be most distressed if you affirmed your identity by disclosing the lurid and kinky details of your sex life.

It's simply telling other people that you're straight or gay.
And, outside of the interminable gay/straight/necrophiliac polls, where would there be a need for that?
My sexual orientation isn't a secret to anyone who follows the desktop thread, but I don't normally go around pointing it out.

I'm assuming you're not anti-social and that you interact with other people on a daily basis, yes?
Do I need to list the myriad situations where it arises that one might want to tell someone else he/she is straight or gay??
It's not about advertising your sexual orienation for no reason whatsoever -- it depends on the context from one situation to another.
95% of the time in my daily interaction with people, I feel no need to tell someone else that I'm gay -- be it at work, hanging out somewhere with friends, grocery store, or working out/exercising at the gym I go to, and so on.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
I think 95% of the time, people can tell you're gay.
When I tell people they usually think I'm joking.

He's hot and bothered over a game he doesn't play, in defense of a team he allegedly doesn't play for.
