    ???

Winamp loads up sup3rfast here, and it doesn't bog down my computer while playing games on my rusty rig here which is a plus for me...

I need it to work with my iPod. I simply don't trust the Winamp iPod plugin. I'm sure there are plenty of bugs and I don't have the time to deal with that ****. Moreover, I don't like the Winamp interface. Why does everything has to be so small?

I sync with iTunes, play with Winamp.

It's not hard. just direct Winamp's media library to the iTunes folder.

That's a taste argument. Honestly, I can't stand the iTunes interface. Why does everything have to be Fisher-Priced? Indeed, where in god's name is the real Stop button, rather than pause/play? Why can't I use global keyboard shortcuts in iTunes? Why is the mini-player still so gigantic?

Can it play AAC's? Can it play songs I bought on iTunes? (I don't have many, but I still like to play them once in a while)

I think The Core Media Player can handle AAC. It's like a WinAmp twin.

Of course it can play .aac and .m4a files.

It cannot play .m4p files, because Apple refuses to license its FairPlay DRM to anyone, which means you need to use iTunes and iPod to listen to the music that you bought. That's why you shouldn't be paying them for it.

That said, there are programs out there now to de-DRM iTunes music store purchases (m4p -> m4a)

Small is good. It leaves it out of the way. Although I know someone's going to say that covering up the right corner buttons isn't "out of the way", I leave it like that because it confuses people who try to use my computer

                        No kidding. It's really amazing.

I also use it all the time when I'm doing homework or programming. I do most of my coding/homework on my laptop, and right next to me is my PC with 19" LCD. I fullscreen milkdrop 1280x1024, turn on 4x FSAA and crank up the quality, and it runs at a smooth 60fps through some of the trippiest visualizations. It's great.

iTunes' oldschool G-force visualizer (which is what, 6-7 years old?) runs like **** and looks even worse.

The interface is completley customizable and there's thousands of interfaces.

What's next! Winamp builds the tools that allow artists to manage their music and their revenue. And develops the player that offers the perfect experience.

As far as Milkdrop goes, I know Geiss programmed it, but I'm still more partial to Geiss 1 and Geiss 2; the former was one of the earliest of its type of visualization, and was coded in assembly.

Yes, but why would you want .aac files? They're inferior to mp3, ogg, and flac files.

AAC files are superior to mp3, by quite a big margin.

                                AAC is basically Dolby Digital.
