  • Recommend me a good music media player

I gave up on musicmatch jukebox. The only reason I liked it because it had a large library window, allowed you to edit the track tags (because ****ers on the internet don't know how to put the proper song title in the track tag ), and had a pretty good randomizer that allowed you to pick which genre(s) you wanted random tracks from. As for musicmatch, it no longer works after I've been updating my library, and moved tracks around. I uninstalled it and redownloaded it, and it still doesn't work right. I've always had problems with this thing anyways. This program and civ4 are notorious for not closing after I exit the program (I get a close program popup when I shut down the computer).

So those are the 3 main qualities I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

and I really don't give a **** about videos or any of that crap. I rarely watch video. All I care about is music.

I dunno, isn't WinAmp supposed to be good? I just use iTunes, but I don't know how good that is for Windows.

I'm using itunes right now. Though it kind of makes me want to puke using an Apple product. .

my musicmatch still works. But I can no longer import a library. It gets stuck on track 40 (I have almost 2000 tracks).

winamp wasn't bad, but I don't think it allowed you to edit track tags, and didn't have a good randomizer (that could randomize based on genre). unless the new version does allow you to do this.

iTunes works pretty well most of the time but I dont think it's really any better or worse than winamp. They both play music that's all I care.

You can edit track tags...in the library, right click on the track(s) and select "Edit Selected Item(s)"

And I'm not sure it supports randomizing based on genre outright. The easiest way to do this would be to click the genre you like in the media library, CTRL-A (select all), then add them to the playlist and turn on the random button.

I find Winamp to run waaaay to slow and it doesn't run all the radio station formats I listen to. Thus Window's Media Player for me.

I used to love Winamp though.

You find winamp slower than WMP? That's an oddity...

Most media players do what you want.

In iTunes, for example, you can easily edit track tags. You can also randomize by genre. You just have to create smart playlists based on genre. You could have a metal playlist, a rock playlist... And then you just have to ask iTunes to play them at random. There's also a random album option.

I use Winamp for playback and Tag&Rename for editing tags and they both work great for me.

Winamp is the best if only for Milkdrop alone. Best visualizer, ever, on the PC.

Well, WMP takes up more resources but will start working quicker. Wimamp takes a while to load up for me.
