  • A ma ma foo foo mistake

    Making the news today:

An apartment complex adjacent to Chinatown here in Los Angeles wanted to build pedestrian bridges to Chinatown and decorate them with Chinese-type pictures. It chose to use pictures of horses and tigers running across the bridges. In the Chinese zodiac these animals represent confidence and energy.

However, the Chinese word for horse is "ma" and the word for tiger is "foo" and the phrase for mediocrity is "ma ma foo foo." Many Chinese neighbors are pissed.

If they want to decorate them with Chinese symbols, why didn't they get a Chinese to do it?
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Zkribbler hopes this assertion is untrue being that he was born in the Year of the Rat.
