Actually this particular form was Chinese Temple Boxing based on the Wushu Temple Art (Shaolin Kung Fu) [Wushu Guan] as well as Bingqi (Weapons) and part of the hardening process is striking hot sand with knife strikes (hand) as well using uncooked peas in a sack continually striking with knuckle strikes at distances of 3-5 inches continues.

Then you go to Heavy Bag which all have to do with training what is like when making contact, and no these in and of itself do not make you better fighter but train on uses of such and what to expect.

I found the Wing Chun to be of a great training tool

    Ahh memories

A friend of mine used to do this hot sand stuff. He only trained his left hand though, so as to avoid accidentally injuring others (he's right-handed).

I was told that Wing Chun is a very practical form. Good for street fights and in confirmed spaces.

But when someone trains they learn self control and through repetitive training one sees more clearly the necessity of such control to avaoid unintentional infliction of injury

        Wing Chun is

We had it two ways, one with and one without the moveable pegs

Its solid so unlike a heavy bag hitting this would be differing in the aspect of blocking a leg where a leg wont necessarily collapse but rather be a harder object to dispose of

ohh.Im geezing now but strike boards for shuto(Japanese knuckle strike, IIRC) and Impe' (Elbow strike, Japanese, IIRC)

Its been years and the varying art forms of Chinese, Oakinawan and Korean Flow together and the varying languages do as well, so I may have forgotten exactly the written way to say what I am thinking
