  • 15 years ago today, Soviet troops assaulted the Vilnius TV tower and TV centre...

..., killing 14 and injuring over 700. A number of persons responsible remain at large in Russia and Belarus and draw Russian state pensions. Gen. Uskhopchik, commanding officer of troops participating in the assaults is deputy defense minister in Belarus. Extradition requests are met with a cold wall of silence. There can be no genuine friendship between our countries until this is resolved.

It's a shame that not all peoples of Europe had the privilege to enjoy peaceful change in that time. As of East German origin, I feel personally bound to those people. Their fate must be a lesson to all of Europe.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.
