$1200 per month is a great investment rate for a young married couple. Where are you getting the extra cash?

        I recommend the link above.

It's my wife's paycheck. We've always talked about saving money, but never have before. Wish we had, cuz it woulda really helped during the hard times, and maybe kept my credit rating to the point where we could be buying a place to live rather than renting.
It's ok because it is never to late (well I suppose when you're dead it is to late but you're in your early 30's so you have time ). Before you start saving you should first build up an emergency fund equal to 3 months worth of bills. This is incase a sickness, sudden job lose, or other emergency hits you then you can still weather it. Next pay off all of your high interest debt like credit cards and only then do you start saving. Make 5%-10% go towards your retirement savings whith another 5%-10% going to a fund to make the down payment on your house.

It may take a few years but you will find you will be in much better shape if you do so.

Agreed, you should either live in a civilized country, or work til the day you die

why is there some right to retire?

                    why not work?

why not be a productive member of society..

Work to live...not live to work.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

I personally think that you should be proud of your work.

I mean, if you were just working to live then you won't accomplish much, and you can do a lot (in today's society) without working (or working much).

Does this thread have any point, beyond che pointing out his treacherous investements?

If not, I'd like to declare this the chat thread for sunday.

Jon, I haven't had any winter vacation for quite some time, same as you. What does that say about us?

No, this is not your chat thread for Sunday. Go find some other thread, Kraut.

Go bother the emu thread. This is a serious thread about me trying to find a European bank with a decent savingins account.
