Theistic evolution is the same as evolution, for all intents and purposes. Evolution deals with how life adapts and morphs after life started. It doesn't care how that happened. "Theistic evolution" simply holds that life on earth was first created by a god, kind of like the "First Mover" in a Newtonian universe.
