  • And what does that have to do with what we are talking about?

What, you don't think that coaches like Belicheck use other players' statements to show disrespect? It's a motivational tool to push them the extra yard. Players DO say that coaches like Parcells and Belicheck pushed them harder than other coaches, even after they stop playing for them.

Maybe... but Vasher is still the weaker guy. Remember, Vasher got burned by Chad Johnson in the Bengals game.

Bad example, Sava. Vasher went up to the line to give him a bump, missed and nearly fell on his face. No one would be able to catch up. He actually did quiet well covering him. He only had 3 catches the entire game.

      • So, the Super Bowl matchup will be very different from the predictions of the "experts." Next week's matchups are actually quite interesting...

        • Bears lost because the had less heart, and talent, than the Panthers

Same with the Colts, though the Colts have more talent in Manning alone

This is why you play your player through the season, not just until you make the play-offs. Lack of conditioning and the weakening of goals.

          • Japher - you contradict yourself after one sentence. You are very confusing.

Mainly, I am just happy the Steelers move on. It was like they were trying to give me a heart attack.

Sava - stop posting here and burn your t-shirt immediately.

            • Yeah... It was strange, if anybody had told you the Bears were going to score that many points, you would have figured an easy victory. It was just a case of the big play... the Bears gave up far too many big plays. The defense just couldn't get it done.

              • As far as football experts - I have discovered they are even less accurate than weathermen. However, the NFC half of the predictions (Seattle) still has a chance to come true.

                  I do?

I'm saying that the teams that won, won, IMO, because they played hard through the whole season, not just until the got a playoff berth. Sitting out your talent has hurt every team that did it; Bengals, Bears, Colts.

Football is about conditioning, which means you have to play your players just to keep them broken in, and it's about heart, which means you have to keep your players goind for a goal. The Colts puttering out at the end of the season and not going for the perfect season, The Bengals not going for a first round bye, has bit them in the arse. While the wild card teams are playing better than they have all season.

                  • That explanation was much better - the whole talent and heart thing - well except for the talent ... bit was very confusing.

                    • I'm not sure you can totally blame the Bengals. Their 'franchise' did get injured on the 2nd play of the game. Kitna may be a serviceable backup, but he's no Carson Palmer.

                      • Had the Bengals played the last 3 games of the season they might have not needed to play the first round. Also, that play might not of went down that way.

I know, a lot of ifs. But I'd rather blame the Bengals than the Steelers. Especially since I now live in Cincinnati and am sick of people blaming Pitt for just playing hard.

                        • Why should ANYONE blame the Steelers? It was just a freak injury. No one to blame for that.

                          • I sit next to a Giants fan and a Redskins fan. Much of the office roots for the Patriots (fair number of Giants fans, though). Now everyone's team is done, heh.

I'd have liked to see the Pats win, but I'm not surprised they lost out in Denver. That just looked like a bad matchup for them. They did not play well.

I loved seeing the Pats lose . Those Pats fans have become as annoying as Yankee fans .
