The Matrix movies were absolutely terrible in my opinion, and erm...Power Rangers. I liked Babylon 5 but always hated the stargate series.

Lost in Space is so bad it's passed so bad it's good into so bad you want to rip your eyes out and strangle the director with the optic nerves. Everyone associated with the movie should be raped by aardvarks and ground to fertilizer.

In general, the worst tend to be movies based on video games, video games based on movies, TV shows based on toys, and books based on either.

Let's not forget "The Strange Island of Dr. Moreau." It was H.G. Wells's worst book, and it has been made into movies innumerable time, all of which are terrible.

I do think that Voyager doesn't deserve all of the hatred it gets. That said, there's plenty of reason I dislike it:

1. Most of the acting was poor (especially Janeway and Harry) and there's little chemistry between the actors.

2. While the concept is ok, the execution was very badly done: Eg, they're stuck in the delta quadrant without resources and how many shuttles did they lose on their journey? 100? The ship should have been falling apart by the end, but instead it was made stronger than ever.

3. The concept made it harder to develop some of the long term storylines that were the strengths of DS9 and, to a lesser extent, TNG.

4. It took technobable to a whole new level, and it also seemed that a number of episodes were made in a paint-by-numbers way that had been done before.

5. The Borg storyline. The borg were already overused in their final TNG episode (much as I liked the movie First Contact, I didn't like how much they changed the borg, giving them a leader and making them far stronger). But they were way, way, overused in voyager. I swear, there was one season when practically every second or third episode was based around the borg in some way. Now, I will admit, there were some episodes that were good, and Seven of Nine was a good addition, but many weren't, and either way they overdid it. (to some extent, they overdid time-travel stories and holodeck stories too (as did TNG), but it wasn't nearly as blatant)

6. The worst episode of Sci-Fi I've ever seen.

I will say I enjoyed some of the storylines/subplots - like the starfleet v maquis, or the nostalgia/movie serial subplot, or Seska.

Well one season was set with the crwe travelling through the Borg's region of the galaxy, so it follows they were much more prevalent. If neutured.

The absolute worst sci-fi TV series was "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea."

Every other week the Seaview was attacked by a huge strand of roaring seaweed. Whenever Captain Crane first spied the roaring seaweed, he always said the same thing: "I see it, but I don't believe it!" Geez, you'd think he'd finally learn.

Starship Troopers is ridiculous... They're sending loads of infrantry fighting abunch of pathetic aliens. Instead of simply blasting them into oblivion with some heavy artillery and mopping the remnants up with some choppers, tanks etc... And of course the acting and movie itself sucked hugely too

Here are a few contributions for your viewing displeasure.

Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone: with Molly Ringwald. This was a 3D borefest.

Starship Invasions: with Robert Vaughn & Christopher Lee. This one was just silly. The special effects were certainly special.

Laserblast: Keenan Wynn and Roddy McDowall in secondary roles. The tagline sums it up well. "Billy was a kid who got pushed around, then he found the power..."

Meteor: with Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Natalie Wood, Martin Landau. "There's No Place On Earth To Hide!" 19 years before Armageddon, there was Meteor. It was the Armageddon of its time. A major stinkbomb.

Poor Robert Vaughn. He had one of the most succesful series on TV: The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Then he became one of the first Hollywood stars to come out against the Vietnam War, and it destroyed his career. He ended up doing movies like this and "Battle Beyond the Stars."

I've never seen starship troopers but there's got to be A LOT more wrong with it than that! Most sci fi seems to make the same mistake that you noted. Everything from Warhammer 40k to Star wars (although i suppose the "death Star" might be considered rather heavy "artillery").

It took me a while but I finally remember this movie. What about it made it seem worse than the other star trek movies? Nowthat I've thought it about it, Nemesis seems like it might enjoy the modest distinction of being the best of the STTNG movies.
