So, you have an object lesson of how no amount of logos can prop up a company forever if its products don't make the grade.

Visual Studio is the IDE of choice for large software development, not vi/gdb/gcc. That's not an opinion, it's an empirical fact.
Similarly, when a company like Intel -- which is still dominant today because of its image and marketing, decides to redefine its image and marketing it's a fairly big deal. If you don't understand the ramifications of that, that's your problem -- and why would somebody who thinks vi is the be-all and end-all of programming environments understand market dynamics, business strategies, and market image.
It is precisely why people like you will remain at the bottom of the barrel of code monkeys, while your wiser colleagues who can see the bigger picture will get promoted over you."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I fail to see how this is a monumental change. In fact, it's barely newsworthy.
The old logo:
The new logo:
It's still blue. It still has the swirly thing around it. It still says Intel.
Your beloved Microsoft has changed slogans several times and no one cared.
Previously they used the "Where do you want to go today?"
Now they're using that Start Something ________ slogan.
Above you you can see the billion different slogans Coke has used.
Basically this whole topic gets a fat "Whoopty Freakin' Doo!!""Luck's last match struck in the pouring down wind." - Chris Cornell, "Mindriot"

You don't think it's a big deal that one of the more recognizable brand names (Pentium) and logos in the world is dying?"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
