Its amazing how much mileage musicians have gotten out of the rock genre.

the funny thing about rock these days: it's either complete garbage, or mozart level genius; there's very few bands out there that are genuinely mediocre.

some newer bands that rock pretty hard would be
              devildriver and mastodon.

Pearl Jam > Hall and Oates

Both are good in their own way. Oates' moustache is greater than any single member of Pearl Jam, however.

Guns & Roses > Pearl Jam

GnR had one good album. A spectacularly good album, but one album nonetheless. No Pearl Jam album tops Appetite for Destruction, but I think they best Guns & Roses when you look at their overall body of work.

Dude, Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 are so full of good songs.

had they combined the best songs from uyi1 and uyi2 to make only 1 album, it would have been better than Appetite.

Rock lives, and it beats most of the ****e that is being played now.

Cold Play are good, but Queen Nothing beats a bit of Queen for me.

Maybe, but they didn't do so. What we got was the bloated, mediocre double-album that was Use Your Illusion.

                            I don't like what it's evolving to.

I only listen to 70's 80's and 90's rock. (and 60's). The only 2 bands I've really liked in the 2000's were Tool and System of a Down. The rest all suck.

and yes, I blame limp bizkit.

a friend recommended me interpol and queens of the stone age, and they both sound all right to me.

I still prefer music from the 90´s 80´s and 70´s
