They'll be up at 5.30am
Why is it always like this? Filling stockings and wrapping till 2am....don't have kids!
Left out my glass and an open bottle of port, a half eaten chocolate bar and an empty bag of oats to show Santa was here!!! Yay!!!
That Santa must get tanked - he had about 5 glasses at our place, the slush
I made shoe prints but the Santa snow I bought was foaming so that didn't work...bubbles all gone now. I even made a Santa foot stencil with steps leading from the front door to the stairs. Cunning aren't I? The older two kids think its crap but actually they're still at an age where you can sow doubt about that "mature" conclusion...
I rushed down to the electronic market at 8.30pm to get a Nintendo DS (a kind of gameboy), which one of the kids said he dearly wanted, like just when its almost too late.... They were pulling down the shutters, the place was deserted, but I found one open shop which had it. Every Dad must have a Christmas story like that - the one shop that has exactly what you want. Doesn't happen every year...
BUT! Boy it was expensive! Does it come it come with like, any games? No. How about a discount? No speak Englishee! When the guy explained, using a calculator the games cost 55,000 won instead of 5,500 as I thought I felt like saying, here, take all my cash....
I left that shop with cabfare and some loose change.....but I found enough for a cold burger and soggy fries. Santa's Christmas Eve dinner.
But hey! Earlier in the day I got the whole family the last tickets for the Nutcracker on Christmas day! Yay!
I gave myself Italian leather shoes and marked them from my doting old grandma, now 95 and in a home, so I will think of her on the day and whenever I wear them ......
Don't forget! Santa works for the baby Jesus. And it is better to give than to receive. I have a lot to be thankful for on Christmas day, family around me.
Merry Christmas everyone
