    • Mountaineous Syria in the winter reminds me a lot of our part of Greater Syria.

Oh it's yours now is it? I thought Israel was merely occupying it...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

You do realize that Greater Syria refers to Syria PLUS Lebanon PLUS Jordan PLUS Israel (and in some usages, to the entire fertile crescent including Iraq, as Herreson implied), dont you? Az was referring to "Israel Proper", not the Golan.

                    • Excellent tour-guide Heresson

I'll probably over there again in spring, maybe we could arrange for a Poly-meet in Damascus Time window will be very limited, as I work in Aleppo-province and usually spend only a few days in Damascus.

Since when is the Aleppo mosque closed to non-muslims? I've been there multiple times.
The guard is a bit weird for sure: I had to wear a headscarf since my hair was too long
If I can find a place to scan pics, I'll post some of the inside of that mosque.

Oh, and make sure to take a trip to Lebanon Getting visa's might be tricky though... I had to get one at the Lebanese embassy in Jordan
You had to be well connected if you want to get one in Syria, not sure what's the situation now with Lebanon 'breaking away'.

                        • Looks fertile to me, I thought it would be half-desert like Israel

I'd really love to visit the fertile crescent and check out why was it there that the first civilizations appeared.

                            • Palmyra but hell, if it was hot
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

There's no Israel. There's just occupied Palestine

There's no Lebaneese embassy in Syria, hm...

I may be mistaken, sorry. It was closed when we came there, anyway. I will visit Aleppo again without any doubt. What will You be doing there? I'll be very happy to meet You.
