Ecthy, what was that black stuff we/I drank in the bar in Berlin right next to where Snotty was staying in the hostel? The stuff you left me to drink whilst you went to find BeBro, and PH made full use of the restroom.

Of course if your from NewCastle then you have to drink it. Like Scots people drinking Iron-Bru(which is also full of nasty chemicals), but not a 'beer' obviously.

I'm just concerned over your 'artificials' intake
artificials don't bother me too much I guess. I just go for tastes.

The guy I work with who's from Liverpool tells me guys have died drinking that stuff. . He tells me not to drink it. He drinks Guiness. I just couldn't get into the taste of guiness. Maybe it's an acquired taste. I probably could learn to like it. But if it doesn't taste good on the first drink, what's the point?

Try drinking Guinness with blackcurrant for a while to get used to it, and gradually reduce the amount you have in it.

My vote goes to Alesmith Barrel Aged Speedway Stout. You just can't beat it. It is an Imperial stout with a relatively high alcohol content to warm you on those cold winter nights but it also happens to come from one of the best breweries in the world according to the international critics. The extended barrel aging for a year does indeed give it a great deal of complexity and flavor that you just can't find in an unaged beer.

If you are fortunate enough to find this beer buy it. You will not regret it. Unfortunately this year's release is already sold out so it will be hard to find and you'll likely have to wait until next winter.

Ratebeer.com ranks it as it as the highest ranked beer it has tasted. That's something.

            I smell a rat!

100%, you have to be kidding!

No beer gets 100% using a ratings system like that and as for international critics, over 90% of these people are American and Canadians don't count...

Ratebeer is an American site which any idiot can join (including idiots from around the World, granted). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's plenty of bonafide beer connoisseurs on this site - but when any Joe Public can join, opinions will quickly become partisan or just plain stupid...

So calling this one of the best breweries in the world is about as ludicrous as calling the MLB finals the World Series...

Sorry mate, I'm sure it's a great beer and would love to track one down next time I'm in the US as I am a fan of Stouts and Porters...

Why not call it the World Series, considering its named after The World newspaper.

I prefer a dark wheat beer in winter, like Aventinus.
