Oatmeal Stout is good stuff. As is stout in general... mmm, Guiness. Brilliant!

I also like Sam Adams Winter - not exactly obscure at this point, but good nonetheless

Beer is for the summer. Winter calls for Rum.

Apparently my taste in beer is mirrored by Arrian. More locally, I get Victory Hop Wallop whenever possible.

Around an open fire outside, i like to drink a fast warmed mead.
Recently(over the last few weeks) i've also been getting into ginger wine(crabbe's i like over stones, but both are suitably warming).
Xmas is one of the few times of the year i get into drinking

I would. But i'm still at work and that would be pushing it a little bit.

you know Newky Brown is the most artificialy produced ale dont you?
I was into it a way back(good memmories) untill someone pointed out it was a nasty brew of non-naturals. That bothered me so i drink other ales now.
Of course if your from NewCastle then you have to drink it. Like Scots people drinking Iron-Bru(which is also full of nasty chemicals), but not a 'beer' obviously.

I'm just concerned over your 'artificials' intake

Damn! You people made me want to drink beer, too. But even though there are 6 students living in this place, there's not a single bottle in here!

So it's cheap red wine tonight

Not much of beer drinker myself, but I do like the odd Liefman's frambozen or Hoegaarden blonde.

I did create the most addictive warm spiced cider a couple for bonfire night... like mulled wine, but with cider... so everyone really enjoyed having a warming mug of the stuff whilst they were stood about in the cold night...
