How pathetic.
We aren't using the territory at all, despite it being quite lucrative, and we are relying on the goodwill of other nations to keep out of it.

Two separate issues here
1. A US submarine could probably sail within 3 miles of any coast in the world without being detected if it avoided major military installations. I don't see how this impacts soverignty one little bit. Even if Canada were completely active up north, it is doubtful they would spot such a vessel.
2. The lack of Canadian activity is short-sighted but Canada has exercised jurisdiction with the local native populations and part from a right of passage issue with respect to the waters, I don't think anyone else in trhe world is trying to assert any jurisdiction. So Canada probably keeps its north by default and then would have an international law issue with respect to soveignty ofover the watersYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo

In any case, Canada is too busy watching hockey to defend their borders. They have no chance. Just be lucky big brother is here to defend your nation.
And if such countries exist do they have the naval power and heavy airlift capability to succeed? Quite frankly we are a long way from anywhere but the U.S. so even unopposed an invasion of Canada is beyond most countriesYou don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto Luongo
