Well it wasn't even very close for upset. Crap game from our team, Rask played good however, again.

I have predicted this all before QFs ever started man..
Then again, I predicted Russia will upset Canada.. that's kind of 50/50 to me, it depends if Malkin is on superfire. Might not be. The rest of the team, who knows.
Anyways, good game today, sorry our team wasn't able to present a threat, I believe there was no chance for us to even start presenting any threats since we were on the penalty box all the freaking time.
Was that refs name tool? I think it was... what a fitting name. And don't get me wrong, Canada got BS calls too.
However, these be the junior WC games... that was the semi final game, how much of **** can this new ref thing do to this sport. This isn't NHL. Besides, NHL still works, now you don't know what happens if someone falls, you don't know if you can touch the person next to you or not.
Just like the BS call Swedes got last night, that cost the game for them. What a joke this whole ref thing has been in these games, equally sucking to every team though.In da butt.

Russia scares me; I didn't realize they were so talented this year. I knew Malkin was good, but that was just complete domination. Hopefully Canada will be able to grind them down with tight defensive play.Comment

Thats the way it works though-- Number one in a pool are rewarded with a day off while teams that win a quarterfinal have to play back to back games. The rate of teams that were #1 in their pool that get to the finals is very very high IIRC ( since being best in your pool AND rested usually makes it tough on your opponent)Originally posted by Asher

If you look at the schedule I think it is only the #5 seeds coming in that don't play on the last day of the round robin. Since that team NEVER makes the quarter finals, the situation is the same for everyone else. Oh and pekka-- The game went as I expected with Finland. They tried but never really got any good chances. Rask played great but it just wasn't enough.
The only criticism the Canadian commentators made on Rask was that he has "problems with rebound control". I believe rebounds were important on a couple of the goals.
