        Same here, except I've been overweight all my life.

        My problem is that I get up at 6 a.m. and have to go straight to work; I don't get home until 6 p.m. That gives me all of 3-4 hours in the evening to do everything else I like: spend with my family, read, call my friends, etc. I'm reluctant to take an hour of it away to go exercise, even though we have a gym in my building. But I should.

          1. I don't lose weight fast

          2. after I lost some weight, it comes back

          most the time I am going to the gym 3ish times a week.. (every couple of months I get busy with other stuff and take like a week off or so, and gain it all back)

            Good stuff, keep on it though. Don't make it just a period, make it a life style. You'll feel even better, get even more energy and be more happy when you go on.

            Don't worry about the money, this investment is the most important you can make, repairing your own life vessel. This will keep you round longer for your family, in most importantly when you get older, you are more capable of things and all that stuff if you keep this up and make it a life style. It's little money when you really think about it. And it's effort worth making. Besides, once you're into it, you can enjoy it better and better all the time, things get easier.

            Now, I'm in the same situation remotely, I've gained like.. uhh... 20 pounds this year. It doesn't show much, I was in very good shape, but I'm still knocking it off in jan-feb, so I'll be getting a new gym card as well. I can't afford it really but I'll make sacrifices to afford it, otherwise I'll gain another 20 pounds fast and then it will show. But I'm looking forward to it, get some muscle tone back and also thinking about getting into few military sports.

            So.. good luck and keep at it!

              Miller, check your workout and your nutrition, most of all your nutrition. You eat wrong if you work out and still can't lose weight.

              Losing weight slowly is OK.

                I probably should start exercising ...

                I'd prefer not to lose weight, however.
                Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

                  by slowly I mean 10 pounds in a month.. (is always really depressing when it comes back in a week)

                  at home I generally eat pasta or a sandwich or (Recently) cold cereal or hot outmeal

                  'out' I eat mexican, sandwiches, and pasta most often (and other stuff occasionally)

                  I drink juice about daily (only way I like fruit), but I try to drink healthy juices

                  I rarely eat snakes, only like once a month...

                    the only fast food I eat (and I eat it as rarely as I can) is Taco Bell and Subway

                    I use to eat it only once a month, more recently it has been about once a week

                        I guess I dont' eat enough salad..

                        but the pasta I eat is less then 1300 calories.. and is often the only goodsize meal I eat that day (maybe I will also have a sandwich and a glass of juice)

                          I no longer eat the ammounts I use to.. which I know was a problem

                          and I know that eating out is always a problem, and I am trying to cut down on it

                            DUDE!!!! 10 pounds a month is NORMAL!!! It's very good, it's almost the optimal you want to lose in a month, it means you're doing it right. Losing fast doesn't always equal good you know, 10 pounds a month is around the very optimal and correct.

                            If you lose 10 pounds a month and it comes back in a week, what does it mean? It means you eat horribly, and why would you lose 10 to gain it back, keep the life style where you lose weight.

                            Besides looking at what you mostly eat, it's no surprise you gain weight fast.

                            Sandwiches, pasta.... There's your problem right there.
