No, that's bad advice. Face to face will not make any difference to her response, and I value her friendship and would not do anything (more
) to jeopardise that. 
But I can now go and chat up some hot French women at Christmas.
France is a great country, because all the hot women go for funny-looking blokes, while those men you'd assume would be fighting off hotties wander around alone. How very ideal! 
(Warning: I'm a francophile, so posting "Yeah, but French women!

I already have moved on to something fresh. I left the company two weeks ago, so whatever she might do at work has no regard to me any more, but I still know what goes on there so am happy to give advice or just listen to complaints about her utterly useless boss.
