I'm afraid I won't know until after Christmas whether I can make it or not.

It is if you can get Rich to pick you up at the airport on his way around the M25. The M11 detour would be fairly short.

Of course I am in no way volunteering his services.

Awesome . If you're back in N'ton we should go for a drink in the meantime!

Awesome, flights land at 0940 or at 1620. Which one suits you better?

To the Turf? It's impossible to find without someone showing you - it has two entrances, a passage underneath Hertford Bridge (on New College Lane just off Broad Street) and another on Holywell Street, again just off Broad Street. I'll PM my number to all those coming nearer the time, give me a ring when you arrive in the centre and I'll direct you/come and meet you

I might well pop down. Is it really a good idea to meet somewhere really hard to find?

Well we can navigate you in once you find the bridge...perhaps we should get signs saying 'Polymeet this way'

And Zop, the morning arrival would be the best bet - gives us plenty of time to get to Oxford, and even a bit of a sightseeing tour - you've got two guides at your disposal (if I can remember )

Yep. Plus if you ask any local "where's the Turf", they'll point you in the right direction. We have a habit of sticking where we start, and the Turf is easily the best place to stick. Hertford bridge is one of the best known landmarks, and the entrance is underneath.

Is the last direct train from Oxford to London on a Saturday really at 2030 (source National Rail)? Seems a bit early! There are other trains to Basingstoke and Reading from where I can get to London, but that seems a bit of a diversion. Would give me til after 10pm though.

Do I a) find somewhere to stay the night and drive, or b)whilst presumably tipsy and, between the hours of 10pm and 2am, attempt to get two trains south and east into London, a tube across London and then a train southeast out of London again, hopefully without missing an interchange and waking up at my stop so that I don't end up in Ashford or Ramsgate?
