Uh-oh, that gives me really bad memories of my junior school. Except the food was forced down your throat and you weren't allowed to leave the table until you'd eaten everything. Regardless of your inimical reaction to rhubarb crumble.

We need to fix a date so I can book travel in advance. I'm not paying £80 to get there..
That's ok, because no-one wants you there

Saturday 25th is good for me, how do I get there from Gloucester Green?

Gloucester Green (the bus station) is in the centre of Oxford, you'll be able to walk to anywhere central within about ten minutes.

If you want to get to the Turf, get off before Gloucester Green, outside Queens Lane. If it doesn't stop there, then just walk up George Street and give me a ring But yeh, it's pretty central

Both the Oxford Tube and Oxford Espress (to my mind, the superior bus ) stop at Queen's Lane, which is just after the St. Clement's stop. Certainly better to get off at Queen's Lane for the Turf.

Yep, but the national express from N'ton doesn't, IIRC, which is what Whaleboy will have to get.

Ah, I thought we were talking about London, my mistake.

I'll probably drive, park on Marston Road and walk the rest of the way in (or catch a bus if I am feeling exceptionally lazy ). It's a shame because I only have one friend left in Oxford from the time I was there who I will have to pop in on at some point...

Put me down as "very likely" now. I'll look for flights tomorrow.

OK, the most favorable deal I can get is by going to Stansted, but is it convenient to go to Oxford from there?
