yeah, I have an account at DU, but I don't post there much...

I have to tread lightly there... my sense of humor does not go over well with that crowd

they like the Bush-bashing stuff... that's no problem... but anything that is remotely controversial, you need to be careful how you discuss things.

I've never had any problems with the mods there, but a few people at the DU have gotten pissed at me for some of my opinions on things:

I said that I thought anal sex was gross and everyone got all pissy and was like ZOMFG YOU HATE GAY PEOPLE... I explained that I would not have anal sex with women or men and that it had nothing to do with homosexuality.

Also, I called some Republican a ****sucker and someone said that was an anti-gay slur... I explained that women can also perform oral sex and that it has nothing to do with homosexuality.

Death Penalty is also a touchy subject...

So yeah, I don't really visit DU that often. I like the idea of having a site where everyone hates Bush and Republicans, but they are too uptight.

You'd think a bunch of liberals would be more open minded and free thinking. But I guess not.

The conspiracy theories are what really annoy me. Some people there seriously think that JFK, RFK, MLK John Lennon, and Paul Welstone were ordered to be assasinated by the same people; and that Bush ordered 9/11. I tried to tell someone there that there was no shots from the grassy Knoll when JFK was assinated, and got promptly flamed.

Oh, and it's like I am always reminding people that depleted uranium is dangerous because it is a heavy metal, not because of radioactivity. And people here who think I'M crazy about Peak Oil should see the people there, they think it's gonna be the end of civilization.
