Second of all, I wasn't even seriously claiming oral sex isn't part of sex.

commonly held definitions are what enable us to communicate with one another, to form relationships and social structures

to bring it ontopic for a bit, to form civilizations

of course everyone has their own, internal definition for a word/idea/concept

but these defitions need to be all similiar (to the 'commonly held' one), otherwise nothing would be communicated

Sex is the term used to mean all things involved with the genitalia.

That doesn't necessarily mean that oral sex is sex.

Think about it, when you're talking to somebody you don't say I had good sex last night if you're referring to somebody blowing you particularly well, you'd talk about your bloody good oral sexcapade. Same thing with anal, if you rogered somebody up the arse you wouldn't say I had sex last night (unless you were gay and it was then it's implied), you'd mention how you had anal sex.

It's like people who think they've lost their virginity because they've received a handjob or a blowie. You haven't lost your virginity, your've just got off.
