    Re: John Kerry is outrageous!

Note the portion is bold. Not just Kerry falsely accuses US troops of terrorizing women and children under cover of darkness but he says that Iraqi troops should.
Funny that a International Committee of the Red Cross report found that coalition forces were doing just that.

I don't know why I even bother with the OT.

      1) I did not take anything out of context. In the quote that I posted, Kerry says "you've got to begin to transfer authority to the Iraqis" and " And after all of these two and a half years, with all of the talk of 210,000 people trained, there just is no excuse for not transferring more of that authority.". It is perfectly clear what the context is. Kerry is talking about transferring authority to the Iraqi security forces.

Reading the full quote of Kerry does not change what Kerry said. He said that the US should not need to go into people's homes, terrorizing women and children, that Iraqis should do that. He wants the Iraqi security forces to hunt down terrorists rather than the US military. I get it.

      2) Iraqi forces are already playing a big role in hunting down terrorists. There have been several major military operations where US forces and Iraqi forces have battled terrorists together.
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

In hindsight I think I know what he's trying to say.
But, he doesn't know how to say it without looking silly.
Let's hope in the next election that the choice is better than Kerry or Bush. America doesn't seem so great when this is the choice for leader.

He actually voted against terrorizing women & children before he voted in favor of it.

That is exactly what you did.

And if you honestly did not purposely take him out of context, then you are totally missing the point of what he is saying and you are misunderstanding his entire point. Which, I might add, would not be a surprise, judging by what you usually post here.

Don't blame Kerry for your lack of reading comprehension skills.

And why are you still so obsessed with Kerry anyways? The election was over a year ago. Your guy won. Move on already.

I have to say, I feel kinda sad for John Kerry. He still emails his campaign mailing list once a week, and thinks that they stay on the mailing list because they still believe. The fact is, they (we) stay on the list because clicking on the unsubscribe link would cost valuable seconds, and we're lazy. He's not respected by many moderates and conservatives because of the negativity of the campaign, and he's not respected by Democrats because he sucks. So I see him as something of a tragic figure at the moment, and threads are like kicking someone who's already down.

there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, uh-uh-uh, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the -- of -- of -- of -- historical customs, religious customs, whether you like it or not. Iraqis should be doing that.
They were doing a pretty good job under Saddam.

But yes, its terrorising for children for their home to be invaded, and I doubt if it matters who is doing the invading. Is this the quote that has Sean Hannity "amazed" today? Kerry calling US troops terrorists?

                              Yes, he said something stupid.
He did say that iraqis should be terrorizing women and children in the dark of night, and breaking historical/religious customs to do so.

but what he said and what he meant are two different things, and we all know what he meant.
