Back in the 20's, Signal Hill here in Los Angeles was covered with thousands of oil rigs until the area was "pumped dry." Recently, wells have been going there again because new technology permits oil companies to pump the oil they used to have to leave behind.

I won't have to, you'll give it up when gas is $6 a gallon

How? Suburbia is a child of the automobile, and when driving from the 'burbs to work becomes too expensive, we will be forced to change.

We can start using liposuction fat as fuel, that should last at least 100 years.

There's more liposuction fuel in the state of Texas than there is oil.

Only if driving to work is necessary.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                        Neither will I.

Not because I'm so rich, but because I drive so little.

If gas was 6$ a gallon it would cost me an additional 75$ a month or so.

I don't have a car to give up. I bike, use the bus, or walk.

We'd see a revival of steam powered trains!!!

Personally, I plan on starting a marijuana farm. It's the country life for me.
