  • EULA surprise

I knew that they wanted to cover everything, but this is ridiculous.

I just upgraded Zone Alarm and decided to have a look at the EULA for a change. Here's a part of it:

In addition, the Software may not be downloaded or otherwise exported, reexported, or transferred to an end-user engaged in activities related to weapons of mass destruction. Such activities include but are not necessarily limited to activities related to: (1) the design, development, production or use of nuclear materials, nuclear facilities, or nuclear weapons; (2) the design, development, production or use of missiles or support of missile projects; and (3) the design, development, production, or use of chemical or biological weapons.
Does that mean that i downloaded the Iraki edition by mistake?
    What?

    Is this for real?

Naw, it's too specific for that. It sounds as if Zone Alarm was tagged as a potential "security risk" (or whatever), and the wording is there to, as I've said, cover their azz.

                          Imho, of course.

Oh man, does this mean I'm not allowed to use the program, so I have to uninstall it again, or I have to give of my production?
This space is empty... or is it?

Computer manufacturers have the same provisos, I recall being asked by Dell if I was purchasing my computer for home use, business use (as standard practice) and then later on whether or not its purchase was at all related to intended use of nuclear, biological and/or chemical weapons.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
