  • I have the data that all the grain was taken from the people who grew it, leaving them none, by force of arms. Thus causing a state sponsored and enforced famine that cost millions of lives of those who grew said grain.

I'm not sure what they teach you about the role of the state and it's citizens, but it is disturbing that mass murder of those citizens would be considered OK by a citizen of a country that wants to be seen as modern in any meaning of the word.

Sounds pretty medieval, if you ask me.

I was wrong. You are hopeless.

      • No. It's the thousands of survivors and witnesses who made it out, and very many places they have told the tale.

        • modern, efficient agricalture

Then why were agricultural yields pathetically low throughout the Soviet era?

            • Your mistake, Serb, and that of the Bolshies, was to assume that nobody outside of the Ukraine cared. There were and are a great many people scattered all round the world, who care a great deal about what was done in the name of collectivisation.

It was their babas and brothers and cousins, who it was done to.

You're never gonna bury that, along with the millions of carcasses.

                  Let's get back awhile.
When I said that this Vince's statement is not true:

This famine was on Stalin's orders. The rest of the country was eating just fine but wasn't allowed to help.
You called me a crazy fanatic.

                  1) If I'll bring memoirs of my own Grand father who lived at this time byeond the Baikal lake (is it far enough from the Ukraine?) about drought and the following famine they had there, would it weight more than stories of thousands of your anonymous witnesses?
                  2) Entire USSR suffered from that. Some regions more, some regions less.
                  3) Russia located in the zone of risky agricalture. Where you gained 7-8 or even 10-12 seeds per a sinle seed planted, we gained two at best tree. And at drought years which happend in Russia with 5 year regularity, we gain NOTHING, thus there was a FAMINE. That's because of our f*cking climate, 'cause we have dry, hot, short summers and long and very cold winters. IT'S CLIMATE. You can't change that.
                  4) Despite that, Russia has always exported grain to feed Europe while it has the lowest consumtion of grain per capita in Europe.
                  5) Prodrazverstka (grain being taken from people who grew it) has been introduced by Russian Tzar LONG BEFORE THE BOLSHEVIKS.
                  6) So, Bolsheviks invented NOTHING NEW. THEY'VE JUST USED TAZRIST EXPERIENCE And despite that much more people died in Russia due to Tzarist policies, you don't blame Tzars, YOU BLAME Bolsheviks WHO FIXED THIS SITUATION.
                  7) You Blame Bolsheviks, 'cause they sold grain while their population was starving. You blame Bolsheviks who used thus recieved money to build a giant tractor plants, fertilizer plants, hydropower plants and many other things that moved famine events from "normal category from abnormal category. You do not blame tzars who spent grain export revenues to build a new palaces for their royal arses.
                  8) You can't make a candy out of pile of bullsh!t immidiently. Russian economy was a pile of BS for centuries. Bolsheviks did nearly impossible thing, they've created a super power out of defeated in WW1, destroyed by Civil war, backward, agrarian coutry (btw, where famines happened regulary), even if they've used the same old methods of Tzarist Russia at the beggining to gain some starting capital.
                  9) Keep reading stories like Harvest of Sorrow - the book wrote by SS dogs, whose main goal was to whitewash their own crimes by portraying SU as the GREATER EVIL. It's way more easier than comparison of economic data of Soviet and pre-Soviet period. And it's always more easier to repeat the bullsh!t of you propaganda, than to think and ANALYZE yourself. Way to go

Considering our climate yields were unprecedented. Modern capitalist Russia still can't achive same levels, despite modern technologies and global warming.

I would say that if grain was being exported, the country was eating fine, or should have been. Aside from the parts being intentionally starved.

The rest will wait til tomorrow.

Bullsh!t. That is the paradox of Russia. It always exported its grain while its own population starved.

Agricaltural output depends first on climate, then technology. Your soil produce more than ours, regardles of technology.
