IIRC Mary Letourneau got a fairly hefty sentence, about 5 years, for the same offense, so this case is a little different. The way it's been presented it sounds like the "victim's" family gave in to her attorney's suggestion in order to get the whole thing behind them. My guess is that the attorney for the defense had been able to prolong the proceedings enough to wear them down. Personally I think this is wrong, the prosecuting attorney ought to have insisted on a real penalty."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!Comment
